Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who can see it, and what you can do about it. Written plainly, to match how the site actually works.

What we collect

  • Your account: name, email, password (stored only as a one-way hash), role, and when you accepted each version of the Terms.
  • Your profile: bio, interests, devices, languages, live-call rate, phone number if you add one for texts, and whether developers can find you.
  • What you do on the site: tests posted and joined, reports, recordings and their transcripts, highlights, chat messages and attachments, reviews, ratings, offers, invitations, samples, and messages to the team.
  • The waitlist (before the site opens): your email, whether you want to post tests or test, the optional note and how you heard about us, and your network address as a one-way scrambled code (to limit repeated sign-ups). We use it only to email you when the site opens and to see what interests people.
  • Payments: amounts, charges and payouts. Card and bank details are handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
  • Technical basics: a sign-in cookie, and your IP address for limiting repeated login attempts. No advertising or tracking cookies.
  • To prevent fraud (one person running both a developer and a tester account to fake reviews): a browser cookie, your network address, and Stripe's fingerprints of your card and payout bank account, kept only as one-way scrambled codes. They're compared between people working on the same test, and an admin looks at any match; nothing is decided automatically.

How we use it

  • To run the service: matching testers to tests, delivering reports and recordings to developers, charging developers and paying testers, and sending the notifications, emails and texts you chose.
  • To keep it safe and fair: preventing abuse, handling reports about people, and deciding disputes. For a dispute or a report about someone, admins can read the related chat.
  • Transcripts and themes are made by AI models running on our own servers. Recordings and feedback are not sent to outside AI companies and are not used to train AI models.

Who sees what

  • Developers see the reports, recordings and chats of testers on their own tests, and the public parts of tester profiles (never your email).
  • Testers see the tests they can join and the developer's name. Samples of your work appear on your profile only if you and the developer both allow it, and never from tests under an NDA.
  • Service providers who act for us: Stripe (payments), our email provider (Resend) and text provider (Twilio), and our hosting and database providers. They only use the data to provide their service to us.
  • We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

  • While your account is open. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires (usually several years), even after you leave.
  • Login links and password reset links expire within 48 hours and 1 hour.

Your choices and rights

  • Change your profile, notification and email settings at any time; turn off being findable by developers in your profile.
  • Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or for your account to be deleted, through Contact us. We answer within 30 days. Deleting an account removes your profile and content; payment records we must keep are kept separately.
  • Block people you don't want to work with; report people who break the rules.

Age

  • You must be at least 18 to use the site, because it involves contracts and payments.

Changes

  • If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you on the site before it applies, like with the Terms of Use.
